Now four years in a row, Dannoff Vodka was pleased to receive a gold award at the Spirits Masters awards, held annually by the Spirits Business magazine. This year we scooped the gold in the Eastern Europe category, once again highlighting the excellent quality found in Dannoff's Latvian production.

The Dannoff Vodka team had a wonderful time as ever at this years awards lunch, and are proud to have sponsored it once again. The whole event was an excellent showcase of the quality driving forward the spirits market and it was great to meet with so many others connected with the industry in such a friendly and welcoming setting. The Spirits Business team always does an outstanding job at organising the event and creating one of the most enjoyable dates in the spirits calendar.

National Convenience Show 2011

This year Dannoff Vodka has a stand at the National Convenience Show at the NEC. NCS 2011 is part of a showcase event with hundreds of suppliers covering a range of unique and niche products as well as three days of live events, guest speakers and expert consultations. Dannoff Vodka will be exhibiting at stand C139 (conveniently on the main walkway to the bar), where we will be enlightening everyone on the merits of Dannoff Vodka as well as providing samples for over 18s.

The event runs from Sunday 27th February to Tuesday 1st March in Hall 6 at the NEC in Birmingham.

Dannoff at the MOBO Awards 2010

Dannoff Vodka was lucky enough to be a part of this year’s MOBO Awards in Liverpool, providing bar and VIP hospitality at the reception and official after party.

The 15th anniversary event took place at the Echo Arena in Liverpool and was attended by a whole host of stars including Billy Ocean, JLS, Roll Deep, Mark Ronson and Tinie Tempah.

It was a fantastic star-studded night and it was great to see everyone enjoying the Dannoff cocktails.

Vodka Masters 2010: Dannoff Awarded Gold For The Third Year Running

I’m pleased to say that once again we’ve achieved a gold award at the annual Vodka Masters Awards. This makes it the third consecutive year that Dannoff Vodka has been awarded the gold award in the Premium class.

This years Vodka Masters saw over 110 entries from some of the most respected and recognisable vodka brands in the world. Judging was as always by blind tastings and required 8 judges split across two judging panels due to the large number of entrants. As in the previous two years, Dannoff Vodka is proud to have recieved such high recognition in the face of such worthy competition.

Organised by the Spirits Business magazine each year, the Vodka Masters brings together both the big and small players in the vodka industry on a level field, judged in a blind tasting by an expert panel. They are a prestigious annual event in the spirits calendar, alongside their awards for the other spirits categories.

Unfortunately, strong competition and some excellent newcomers in the Eastern Europe class meant that we’ve had to let someone else look after the gold in that class. We fully intend to claim it back next year, however, along with our fourth consecutive gold in the Premium class.

A/S Latvijas Balzams Distillery in Riga, Latvia

The unique taste of Dannoff Vodka is a result of over a century of vodka production expertise by the staff at the prestigious Latvijas Balzams Distillery. Situated in the heart of Riga, Latvia’s capital city, the distillery has been in operation since 1900 when it began operating as the Riga State Spirits Warehouse No. 1.

The progression of the company since 1900 has shown the distillery grow from strength to strength, building their expertise in their craft. As well as being a renowned vodka distiller, Latvijas Balzams were also expanding and producing other alcohols and liqueurs. This included their proud namesake & signature drink, Riga Black Balsam, an ancient drink whose unique herbal bitter recipe dates back to 1752.

In 1924, Riga Spirits Warehouse employed a total of 24 staff and had a production output of between 25000 and 26000 bottles a day.
In 1960 the company began production for export.
In 1970, the company acquired its present name of Latvijas Balzams.
In 1997 the company was privatised and in 1998 became listed on the Riga Stock Exchange.

Today A/S Latvijas Balzams is the largest manufacturer of alcoholic beverages in Latvia and the Baltic states. In 2008, the company had a market share of 33% in Latvia, with more than 100 brands in production.

With its strong heritage and local reputation, Latvijas Balzams has produced Dannoff Vodka to exceptional quality, drawing on over a century of experience in the craft. Dannoff Vodka are proud to announce that for the second year running we have been awarded the Gold award for both the Premium and Eastern European categories at the Spirits Business Vodka Masters Awards.

The awards presentation held in Cannes in October confirmed Dannoff Vodka’s place as a premium brand of notable quality, and we consider it a great honour to retain our awards against the competition of over 100 other vodka brands ranging from the standard to the luxury.

The two gold awards were given after Dannoff Vodka was once again subjected to a strict blind taste test conducted by a panel of leading spirits and on-trade specialists.
